After a year at the top, GCMS 8th graders will be the new kids on the block when they enter GCHS as freshmen next year. Thanks to the Transition Day experience, now in its second year, the move will be much smoother.
GCMS will have 21 students performing in the Fourth District, All-District Band, Satruday, Feb. 23 at Taylor County High School.
GCHS students performed at the Center for the Arts with students from across Kentucky during All-State weekend, the highest honor for a high school musician.
Grayson County elementary schools recently competed in District Governors Cup academic team competition, with Clarkson taking first place, and Lawler a close second. Students districtwide medaled in written assessment areas.
GCHS DECA came away from Regional competition with 18 students placing 1st in their event, and all 30 competitors qualifying for state conference in March.
Congratulations to our County Spelling Bee winners! At the middle school level, 1st Place went to Landon Shiarella, 2nd to Kadie Monin, and 3rd Place was taken by Chris Vincent. Landon will represent Grayson County in the statewide KY Derby Festival Spelling Bee this spring.
