Tech Center Principal Jim Blain and CTE students welcome 8th graders at the door. The Grayson County Technology Center is working to achieve Gold Level Status for student organizations through the Kentucky Unite to Serve program, which consists of three components: literacy, career awareness, and advocacy.

The school hosted GCMS 8th graders on Dec. 8 to introduce them to Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and promote career awareness. The middle schoolers made the rounds of each program to learn from instructors and CTE students alike. This first-hand knowledge of programs will provide class and scheduling insights for the soon-to-be-freshmen.

HOSA Medical Reserve Corps finalists GCHS HOSA returned from national competition with plenty of hardware in hand. The national conference was held in Nashville, TN, with more than nine thousand competitors.

Carpentry students build raised gardens Raised gardens are one of the latest trends, keeping knees and backs from aching or injury. They are also a boon for those with limited mobility, such as some of the residents of BeeHive Homes, many of whom had previously enjoyed gardening.

Group signing DECA Month Proclamation GCHS DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) is celebrating Kentucky DECA Month during November. This year’s officer action team recently joined with district and elected officials to sign a proclamation. The event will feature a variety of events and celebrations throughout the month.
