Decorative US News Ranks GCHS in Top 25% of Kentucky High Schools

Grayson County High School has been named one of U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 Best High Schools. The school was ranked #58 statewide, placing it in the top 25 percent.

“It’s another reason to celebrate the great things going on here at GCHS,” said Principal Josh Baldwin. “I am so proud of our teachers and our students who work so hard to excel. This is an outstanding measure of their efforts and their success.”

According to the publication’s website, the 2019 rankings for the first time included every eligible public high school in the nation and in each state. Schools are no longer categorized with gold, silver or bronze designations as in previous years, but ranked numerically. Ranking criteria was also expanded from college readiness alone, to also include college level curriculum provided, math and reading proficiency and performance, underserved (minority and low-income) student performance and graduation rate.

“There is so much positive happening at GCHS and throughout our district,” said Superintendent Doug Robinson. “This national recognition is testament to the high-quality education and future-ready opportunities available to help our students transition for success.”
