GCHS HOSA members standing behind large HOSA letters
“Healthy” Finish Qualifies GCHS HOSA for Nationals 

Grayson County HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) made a strong showing at the recent State Leadership Conference, with several students advancing to National competition by placing in the top three of their event. 

First place National qualifiers include: Makenna Wells, Pathophysiology; Joey Vogt, Medical Terminology; Peyton Spears, Nurtrition; Taylor Kinser, Clinical Nursing; Serenity Miller, Home Health Aide; and Clay Newton, Nursing Assisting.

Blair Warner placed 3rd in Epidemiology, and Brianna Totten took 3rd in Medical Assisting.

Students placing in the Top 5 in their event included Ashton McMonigal, Medical Math; Maranda Henderson, Transcultural Health; Zach Spears, Healthy Lifestyle; and the team of Kaylee Embry, Matte Milam, and Shelby Pierce for Community Awareness. 
 
HOSA’s National Leadership Conference will be held June 26 – 30 in Dallas. GCHS HOSA advisors are Donna Priest and Erin Johnston.
