RELAUNCH 2020: Two Options. Your Choice.

Students will return in-person on a regular schedule following the A/B transition period.

Grayson County Schools believe students thrive academically and socially in the school building. Health and safety procedures will be enhanced and follow Kentucky's Healthy at School guidelines.

On Campus:
  • Symptom screening for all staff and students including daily temperature checks upon arrival.
  • Students with symptoms will be isolated under adult supervision and parents will be contacted.
  • Social distancing in common areas with signs and floors marked for safe distance.
  • Frequent hand washing and sanitizing throughout the school and the day.
  • Students in grades 1 - 12 will be required to wear masks during transitions and in areas where social distancing is not possible. Parents are encouraged to provide their own child’s mask. They will be provided for those who do not bring their own. There is a degree of flexibility for younger students and those with special and/or medical issues.
  • Increased cleaning, sanitation and disinfecting in all areas of the school.
Students will receive instruction in a digital format with teacher interaction and feedback.

This option is designed to meet the needs of our families who do not feel it is in the best interest of their child's or another family member’s health or other concerns to return to the school building.

Expectations and Accountability:
  • High quality internet (ex: you can reliably stream videos or virtual meetings).
  • Use of a reliable device, like Chromebook, laptop or desktop computer. Cell phones will not allow students to complete the level of work needed for this learning choice.
  • Families with technology needs should contact their school for assistance.
  • Students enrolled in virtual school must commit to that option through the end of each grading period.
  • Daily attendance and participation in a digital format with teacher-guided lessons, assignments, and assistance.
  • Consistent communication and feedback between teacher, student, and parents
  • Teachers may be district-wide and not necessarily from the student's home school
