FCS is participating in the King Arthur - Bake for Good Program! They shipped us over 500 lbs of flour and supplies this week to prepare kits for our students.
Bake for Good is King Arthur Baking Company’s free outreach program for students in grades 4 -12. We have three goals: learn, bake, and share. Students learn to make bread from scratch at home using ingredients supplied by us. The recipe makes two loaves, one they keep and one that is shared with someone in need or as an act of kindness.
We assembled the kits today, and you can see the photos shared by Gracyn here. We will be distributing kits to Foods students next week and Culinary students in the coming weeks.

The next round of P-EBT benefits is scheduled to begin the week of March 15. Link for details: http://bit.ly/KyPEBT3

Senior pictures will be offered through a local photographer, Michelle McMillan, at the high school on Sept. 24, 25, 29, 30. Time slots are 10 minutes each. Students will need to arrive at least five minutes before their time slot. Students who arrive late risk losing their time slot and may be required to reschedule.
Pictures will be taken outside. Students will NOT enter the high school for photographs. Students will be directed to their photo session by signs or yearbook students as they enter the school grounds.
Sign ups for pictures will be taken online through Sign Up Genius https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4EAEAA2DAAF8C61-senior
(Find the day and time you want, click the red box “Sign Up” THEN click the box at the bottom “Submit and Sign up” THEN fill out the information and click “Sign Up Now”.)
Seniors can sign up for ONE slot on the following dates: Sept. 24, 25.
On Sept. 29 seniors on the A schedule can sign up for a photo slot.
On Sept. 30, seniors on the B schedule can sign up for a photo slot.
Seniors will not be allowed to leave class to get pictures taken on these two days.
Additional days will be added if needed.
Seniors should wear their choice of outfits (school dress code applies). We cannot do cap/gown or formal poses at this time because we can’t share the clothing. Seniors will not have time to change outfits. We understand this is a streamlined process but it’s the best we can do at this time. It is possible other photo opportunities may come up after the Christmas break. If anything develops, we will share the information as soon as we can. The Yearbook staff can’t wait for things to get better so we are doing what we can now to create this opportunity.
If seniors want to submit a photo for the yearbook, they may do that by emailing one photo to yearbook advisor Deanna.Lasley@grayson.kyschools.us.
Underclassmen photos will be taken Oct. 13 at the high school.
