Response to intervention
What It Is & How It Works
Response To Intervention, or RTI, at GCHS is designed to improve student learning. A revolving, half-hour period is dedicated each morning to help students improve skills related to the ACT exam (Reading, Science, Math & English grammar) as well as Career and Employability skills.
Those skills will be graded throughout the school year and will involve a pre-test and a post-test. Pre-tests are used to find out what students already know, and post-tests measure what they have retained after instruction. For parents checking Infinite Campus on the Parent Portal, here's how it will work:
- Scores that appear in Red in Infinite Campus indicate an assessment that is not used in the calculation of the final grade.
- Scores that appear in Black in Infinite Campus indicate an assessment and will be used in the calculation of the final grade.
- First Trimester -- Pre-tests are Red and post-tests are Black
- If a pre-test appears in black, that means a student has already had a pre-test in that specific area or skill.
