WHAT IS VIRTUAL LEARNING?

The Virtual Program is utilized by our District to cover the same curriculum and content as a normal classroom in each of the Core Content Areas (I.e. English/Language Arts, Math. Science and Social Studies). The material is not developed by the school nor the classroom teachers. Therefore, the pacing and order of the content is not the same as what is occurring at the same time as the classroom at GCMS.

The program that we utilize is designed by Edgenuity and GCMS has a site administrator that monitors student's progress daily to ensure successful completion. The Virtual material is not the same as NTI work. There is no packet sent home, nor Google classroom options. Reliable Home Internet access and an electronic device must be utilized in order to complete the program as necessary.

If your child has an IEP or 504, arrangements must be made through the school and Cougar Zone in order to complete your child's minutes of Specially Designed Instruction (SDI). If your child is Gifted in a particular area, additional courses are available in order to continue to enhance your child's area of giftedness.

Please contact Grayson County Middle School, 270-259-4175, if you are interested in enrolling your child into the Virtual Program.
