Cougars districtwide are partnering with the GCHS Football Alumni Association to “Tackle Hunger” again this year during Spirit Week, August 21 - 25. Schools will collect canned goods and non-perishables during the week for delivery to the GC Alliance on Friday.
In 2022, 3,900 total pounds were collected, resulting in close to 21,000 meals. Since the campaign began in 2019, nearly 9,500 pounds of food products have been collected, with 5,500 pounds of the total collected by our schools.
In addition to giving back to our community, the GCHS Football Alumni Association each year provides a scholarship to a senior Cougar football player. The group has also assisted football programs throughout the district.
The 2023 season marks the 50th year of Cougar Football.
