The GCHS Academic Team had another strong showing - this time at KAAC Region 3 Governor's Cup competition. The team placed 3rd in overall points with a number of students qualifying for State, March 17 – 20 in Louisville. These include the Regional (and District) Champ Future Problem Solving Team of Cierra Tyler Clark, Laslen Hatfield, Gabriel Secora, and Tara Wells.

Also headed to State with Top 5 finishes will be Lainie Anderson, Region Runner-up; William Keiran, 3rd Place, Social Studies; Cole Bryant, Social Studies; Michenna Meredith, Language Arts; and Norea Watson, Arts & Humanities, all 5th Place.

In addition, several students competed in the History Bee and Bowl State Championship earlier this month in Bardstown and all qualified for Nationals. These include the JV Bowl Team of Ethan Butler, Garon Johnson, Ayden Coon, State Champions, and the

Varsity Bowl Team of Cole Bryant, Koby Henderson, William Keiran, Gabriel Secora, and Landon Shiarella, State Runner-up.

Keiran, Shiarella, and Bryant also made it to the Bee playoffs, as the Top 5 scorers of the competition.
