Emily Mercer, a Junior at GCHS, has had the opportunity this year to shadow UK extension agent Natalie Taul in the field of early education. Here's what she had to say about her experience:
"During my time with the extension office I have worked with an amazing crew of people planning, crafting, and executing projects for the laugh and learn program. Working hands-on with Natalie Taul has been an incredible experience. I have been able to learn both about children’s education and how important play can be to early education. My favorite part of my job shadowing experience was being able to meet so many amazing families and better understand children and their incredible minds. For anyone who has not participated in the laugh and learn programs our extension office offers, you should! They are an amazing group of people and they provide our community with so many great opportunities."
