Cougar Memories
Three active Grayson County High School basketball players have reached 1,000 points in their ongoing careers, including Breigh Jones, Jack Logsdon, and Brody Armstrong.
The first player is Breigh Jones, a sophomore in high school who has been playing varsity for 4 years. After accomplishing this goal, Breigh said, “I was excited and relieved, and I was happy to share this moment with my team.” She added that she had to work pretty hard and would go to the gym every Sunday after church and ensure she could achieve this goal. Her goals for the rest of this season and the upcoming seasons are to win the district tournament and reach 2,000 points next season.
The next player is Jack Logsdon, a junior in high school. He has been playing varsity for 5 years. Not only did he get 1000 career points, but he just got 2000 career points. Upon completing this goal, Jack said, “Reaching 2000 points is a huge honor and something I never would've imagined.” He has put in a lot of effort to achieve this goal. He shoots in his free time and works on skills that would be hard to guard in games. Jack's goals for the rest of this season are to win the regional tournament and, in the upcoming season, he wants to reach 3,000 points.
Finally, Brody Armstrong. He is a senior this year and has played varsity for 4 years. Brody said, “I was hyped, and it felt good to achieve a goal I worked very hard for,“ after this was accomplished. He puts in a lot of time and effort into basketball by staying after practice and shooting. His goal for his senior season is to go to state.
