GCHS FCCLA members with chapter banners

FCCLA has been enjoying fantastic team, chapter, and individual successes at both the State Leadership Conference and Region 5 Conference.

In the area of Leadership and Recognition, Alaina Mudd, a 2026–2027 State Officer Candidate, was named Region 5 Vice President of Public Relations for the upcoming school year. She also served on the 2025-26 State Public Relations Committee.

Brooklyn Aubrey was elected Regional Vice President of Peer Education, Jaida Plant will serve as Regional Vice President of Community Service, and Haylee Edwards will have a seat on the Regional Nominating Committee

Chloe Shartzer and Jaida Logsdon received the prestigious Agnes Foster Golden Horizon Award, an honor given to seniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership, dedication, and faithful service to their chapter and community. Only 12 are awarded statewide each year.

Ella Decker was the winner of the State Trading Pin Design Contest, and her design will be featured nationally at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

In State Challenge Tests, these students took top honors:

• Child Development – 1st Place: Abigail Hall; 2nd Place: Oliviah Shoemaker; Top 15: Heavenly Culver

• Hospitality Services – 3rd Place: Bella Ford; 4th Place: Jaida Plant

• Culinary Math – 8th Place: Jaida Logsdon

• FCCLA Knowledge – 5th Place: Madison Winburn; 7th Place: Haylee Edwards; 9th Place: Leah Harrel

• Nutrition and Wellness – 5th Place: Brooklyn Aubrey; 6th Place: Tabitha Crossman

Jaida Plant, Brooklyn Aubrey, Haylee Edwards, Bella Ford, and Tabitha Crossman represented the chapter in the State Knowledge Bowl Academic Team.

In addition, GCHS earned Chapter and Program Achievements, including the Largest Chapter Increase Award, the Scholarship Donation Award, the 2025–26 National Ultimate Chapter Award, and the 2026–27 Gold Honor Roll Banner.

During the conferences, members also exemplified the Service and Leadership in Action category by visiting Norton Children's Hospital with over 250 prepared activity bags for children.

Donovan Heady (Alumni) served as an FCCLA Intern, assisting with the FCCLA Store and various conference events.

Chloe Shartzer and Tabitha Crossman recently completed their terms as Regional Officers and represented GCHS with excellence throughout the year.
