GCHS Math and Science students took their skills to The Hill for the 4th annual WKU Math Competition, a regional event featuring team and individual events. They returned victorious, with placements in multiple categories!
The event has grown significantly over the years, and schools were divided into three divisions based on size. GCHS was placed in a division with Doss, Green Hill, Greenwood, Logan County, McCracken County, Mount Juliet, Pleasure Ridge Park, Rossview, and Warren East (10 schools, 143 total students), with several Cougars competing in the maximum allowed four events.
Placements included:
Complex Numbers: Thomas Shelton (12), 3rd Place
Geometry: Colton Skaggs (9), 3rd Place; Lincoln Collier (10), 4th Place; Cooper Justis (10), 5th Place
Algebraic Equations: Karver Decker (9), 5th Place
Algebra: Lincoln Collier (10), 4th Place
Freshman Team, 5th Place: Levi Masden, Jane Bohannon, Wayne Clark, Eli Haycraft
Sophomore Team, 4th Place: Levi Scott, Cooper Justis, James Smith. Skylar Chhor
