Work Based Learning Wednesday

One of my favorite parts of my job is teaching students about the importance of building positive relationships with employers and networking.  The Chamber of Commerce is an excellent resource for developing this important professional skill and I love pairing students with April Spalding, our Grayson County Chamber Director.  Senior Jorja Foreman is studying Business and Marketing at GCHS and shadows with both April and branding expert Paloma Culver of "Cultivating Culver".  Here's what she had to say about her experience this year:

I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to job shadow for such talented

people,  April Spalding and Paloma Culver! What I enjoy the most about job shadowing is

developing relationships with new individuals and learning new skills in my dream career

pathway. I have met a crazy amount of inspiring people! Getting introduced to multiple

programs, techniques, and events I had no idea had such an impact on the

community has been an insane eye-opener!

The vision of the Chamber is to "become a community leader in positive change by improving the quality of life and developing a community of one with a commitment to education, healthcare and building a diversified economy".  We at Grayson County Schools appreciate their commitment to education and especially to our students!  Thanks April & Paloma for all you do to make Grayson County a better place!
