This Spring GCHS Junior Jake Rogers shadowed with Mid-Park's engineer Adam Hughes, to learn more about the process of taking projects from a customer's request to a functional structure. What surprised Jake the most was how long it takes to get a project to its completed state as well as the cost of materials.  As a CTE student, Jake has taken courses in computer programming and machining, both which teach him valuable skills needed for a career in Engineering. He plans on studying mechanical or aerospace engineering after high school.

Thank you to Greg Bernard, Trish Niles and Adam Hughes for partnering with GCTC to mentor students through the work based learning program!
