To improve focus, suggest that your teen make their distance-learning or homework area as classroom-like as possible. They should turn off or silence devices they're not using for school, get out supplies they’ll need before each class, and post assignments on a bulletin board.
Social media gives your child a powerful voice. But before they post about a controversial topic, encourage them to think critically. Is their post based on facts? Is it free from personal attacks? If the answer is “no,” then they should revise their writing. #GCMSOpportunity
Good morning GCMS families! Here's a quick tip for parent drop-off. With the temp outside dropping, it is understandable that you have your heater on. If you turn it off & crack the window when you turn into GCMS, it should help with your child's temp screening. #GCMSOpportunity

On the family checklist, there was some confusion about personal devices. School-provided chromebooks and chargers should be brought to school each day. Bringing personal devices to school is helpful, but optional--not mandatory. Sorry for any miscommunication. Thanks!
Ask your teen to name someone they admire and what character traits that person displays. They might say their teacher is kind, helpful, and fair. Encourage them to focus on those traits in themselves—maybe they can become a role model for someone else. #GCMSOpportunity
