Health Science students gather around a large screen with a human eye

You REALLY had to be there! Healthforce Kentucky brought its mobile lab to the GC Technology Center this week. The lab hosts high-tech simulations, classrooms and labs, plus hands-on deep dives into anatomy and medical conditions, complete with sounds and even smells of an ER or surgery suite.

HealthForce Kentucky is a partnership between Owensboro Health, nine colleges and universities, and school districts across 16 counties in Western Kentucky. Its goal is to inspire careers in health care by providing wider access to the highest levels of instruction, technology, and training.

A 40,000-square-foot facility is currently under construction in Owensboro and will be available for use by all participating educational partners to supplement their in-school programming with state-of-the-art technology. The post-secondary institutions and the P-12 districts will work to share instructors and resources to provide more offerings and to expand class availability while also reducing the cost of instruction.
