More manufacturing career exploration - this time for GCMS. 8th graders took in the sights and sounds of both Mid-Park Highway and Plastikon during their own Manufacturing/Get to Know CTE Day.
The purpose of the event was to expose students to local career opportunities in advanced manufacturing. Giving students the opportunity to actually see the businesses in action is an important step in helping them understand the many local career possibilities.

In addition to the tours, students also participated in an expo at the Centre on Main, meeting with smaller manufacturers and GCTC student representatives from CTSOs such as FFA, FCCLA, HOSA, Coding, Machining, and many others. The afternoon took them on a visit to GCHS and the Technology Center to learn about the CTE Pathways that support learning for those careers.
“It was a great day to show what we do here in the CTE world and how it correlates with local jobs,” said Lee.
