In first-time competition, the FCCLA LifeSmarts Knowledge Bowl Team of Michenna Meredith (captain), Tara Wells, Cierra Clark, Gabe Secora and Laslen Hatfield advanced to the Top 16 in open pool play. They will compete in the finals at the National Leadership Conference in Seattle next June. Each student is an FCS content expert and all must have a broad base of FCCLA Knowledge. They had competed before the Conference in individual rounds and interviews to reach the Top 40 and came into the Conference in the Top 24.

Several students placed in individual competitive events that included honors plus significant scholarships. These included Hollie Hagan, 1st Place in the Nutrition Challenge and a $15K scholarship, and Donavon Heady, 2nd Place, Education and Training Challenge with an $8K scholarship.

In addition, Jaida Logsdon, Chloe Shartzer, Peyton Pharis, Jada Basham and Sydney Lindsey all ranked Nationally in their respective competitions with final scoring to come.
