high school girls seated around a table set for lunche

Learning to lead as women in today’s world. These GCHS ladies - mainly freshman and sophomores - had the opportunity to participate in Junior Achievement’s Girl$ Experience. Hosted by JA, the event was sponsored by Tennessee Valley Authority and Warren RECC.

Students spent the day learning from other successful female business and community leaders with an emphasis on professional etiquette in a variety of settings, job applications and interview tips, dressing for success, budgeting, mentorship, goal setting, and more.

The JA Girl$ Experience encourages young women to strive for meaningful and dynamic leadership careers, to build valuable communication skills, and to foster strong confidence as it connects them with other generations to showcase educational and career opportunities in business.

It was a great day and thanks go to JA, TVA and WRECC for providing this wonderful opportunity, which will hopefully continue and grow. Thanks also to all the community professionals who spent the day with our students, sharing their stories, insights and vision for a successful future.
