Two girls rolling a dolly with bagged food

Halls were quiet at GCMS as nearly the full student body fanned out across the community for the school’s second Day of Service.

Students worked on various projects on the GCMS campus, at Leitchfield and Clarkson city parks, Wilkey and its preschool, and the Alliance Food Pantry. They helped with cleanup and beautification projects, packed food, and made cards for nursing home and rehab residents. They also hosted a very special breakfast for school SROs and the law enforcement community.

The event allows students to serve others and experience the good they can do through seemingly simple acts and thoughtfulness. It’s also a reflection of the school’s Core Values - caring, determination, honesty, respect, and responsibility - and a very hands-on way to bring them to life through action.
