Jacalyn Ditto has been named Director of Special Education and Preschool for Grayson County Schools. She succeeds Tracie Johnston, who is retiring after 26 years of dedicated service to Grayson County Schools, including leading the district's special education and preschool programs since 2022.
With two decades in education, including leadership roles at the school, district and state levels, Ditto brings extensive experience in special education leadership and a strong commitment to supporting students, staff and families.
Ditto most recently served as Executive Director of Exceptional Child Education and Special Programs for Jefferson County Public Schools. Prior to that role, she served with the Kentucky Department of Education as Assistant Director of IDEA Monitoring and Results, helping school districts strengthen services for students with disabilities across the Commonwealth.
Before moving into district and state leadership, Ditto served as an elementary and special education teacher, assistant principal, principal at the Kentucky School for the Blind, and an Early Childhood Education specialist.
“Jacalyn brings an exceptional combination of classroom experience, school leadership, district leadership and state-level expertise to this role, plus a real passion for students and families," said Superintendent Doug Robinson. "We’re excited to have her join our team.”
Ditto serves in leadership roles with several statewide professional organizations, including as President-Elect of the Kentucky Council for Exceptional Children. She is a board member-at-large of the Kentucky Council for Administrators for Special Education and has also represented Kentucky in several national organizations.
Ditto and her family live in Breckinridge County, and she looks forward to becoming part of the Grayson County community when she begins her new role on August 1.
