The Redhawks soared to new heights as Clarkson Elementary collected 1,277 pounds of food in this year’s Help the Cougars Tackle Hunger Food Drive. That generosity earned the school the 2026 Tackle Hunger championship trophy, presented by Grayson County High School Football Alumni Association (GCHSFAA) member Bill Clemons.
GCS and schools districtwide again partnered with the Football Alumni Association for the annual drive benefiting the Grayson County Alliance Food Pantry. Lawler Elementary also set a school record, collecting 1,133 pounds.
Donations collected throughout Spirit Week and at the GCHS Homecoming game brought this year’s total to a record 4,290 pounds of food plus $1,902 in monetary donations — enough to provide 19,029 meals for Grayson County residents.
GCS is proud to partner with GCHSFAA as it spearheads this annual effort and very proud of all our schools for coming together to support the Grayson County Alliance and its vital work in our community.
