In a history-making turn, and for the third consecutive year, GCMS will send a Governor to the Statehouse. 8th grader CJ Johnston was elected to the highest office of Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA), a student-run, simulated legislative body held earlier this month in Louisville and Frankfort. She follows in the footsteps of last year’s Governor, Bailey Richardson, and Grayson County’s first elected official, Payton Abney, a GCHS freshman and sophomore respectively.
